Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is excited to present the regional debut of Escape to Margaritaville, opening Wednesday, January 11 and running until Sunday, March 5. Trade in your snow boots for a pair of flip-flops and come enjoy the fun. Escape to Margaritaville, the book, is written by Greg Garcia and Mike O’Malley, music and lyrics are written by Jimmy Buffett.
Featuring both original songs and your most-loved Jimmy Buffett classics (“Cheeseburger in Paradise”, “Five O’Clock Somewhere”, and “Volcano”), this new musical is the story of a part-time bartender, part-time singer, and full-time charmer named Tully who thinks he’s got life all figured out; until a beautiful career-minded tourist steals his heart and makes him question everything. Imagine a place where the sun is hot, the ocean is warm, and the drinks are as cold as they are plentiful. Welcome to Margaritaville, the island paradise where city folk get away from it all and the locals get into the kind of trouble you can almost always sweet talk your way out of. Set your mind on island time and plan your escape from the winter blues to the regional premiere of Escape to Margaritaville.
