FAM Evening with an Expert: History of the R. F. & P. Railroad
The Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac (RF&P) Railroad linked the North with the South by providing rail services between Washington D.C. and Richmond from 1834 to 1991. The railroad has shaped Fredericksburg from rail lines being used by both the Union and Confederate armies to railroad improvements and the contraction of the railroad bridge in the 1920s. Representatives from the RF&P Railroad Historical Society will speak about this extensive history.
