As we prepare for the joyous holiday (is it a holiday?) that is daylight savings time, it is important to prepare for all of the wonderful happenings that Fredericksburg has in store. This weekend, here are some wonderful activities to participate in as we spring forward in Fredericksburg:
- Fredericksburg is home to some fascinating museums, and good news: this weekend, they are back open after winter break! With newly extended hours, purchase your Museum XPass to check out such great locations like Fredericksburg Area Museum, the Washington Heritage Museums, Historic Kenmore, and George Washington’s Boyhood Home at Ferry Farm.
- Once the days become longer, the Fredericksburg Battlefields will be open later. Learn of the rich Civil War history in Fredericksburg, while enjoying a later sunset on Sunday night.
- Fredericksburg Carriage Tours are back! Purchase tickets online and meet your carriage driver in front of the Fredericksburg Visitor Center at 706 Caroline Street. Olde Towne Carriages now offers a historic tour of Fredericksburg’s Victorian Garden, as well as a tour of the tulips downtown.
- Longer daylight hours means more time for outdoor dining, which many downtown restaurants offer. Check out some of the chef-owned, revered restaurants in Fredericksburg.
Happy Daylight Savings Time. Celebrate accordingly.
