2024 Spring Events in Fredericksburg

FredNats logo at entrance to stadiumAs Spring approaches, we are hard at work preparing for some great festivities. As usual, there are a number of fun things to do in the coming season. Here are 12 spring events in Fredericksburg:

  1. Fredericksburg Nationals Opening Day – Words cannot express the excitement for Friday, April 5th, when the FredNats will have their Opening Day! Come watch our beloved team beat the Delmarva Shorebirds, and stay after the game for Firework Friday. 
  2. FXBG Brew Fest – Tickets are still available for FXBG Brewfest for this Saturday, April 6th. For beer lovers, the Brewfest is not to be missed!
  3. Earth Day Festival on the Rappahannock – On Saturday, April 20, swing by Old Mill Park to celebrate our wonderful world and cherished environment. This free festival will have fun activities, food, and live music, among many other things to do. 
  4. Fredericksburg Farmers Market – Beginning on April 13th, Hurkamp Park will host the Fredericksburg Farmers Market, every Saturday from 7am-1pm. Head on over to purchase authentic, homemade items, in a great effort to support local businesses. 
  5. Pick Strawberries at Braehead Farm – Whether you are picking strawberries for fun with your kids, or picking hundreds for your seasonal smoothie routine, Braehead Farm is open for all of your strawberry picking needs. Strawberries at Braehead are available from late April into May, so swing by for a limited time!
  6. Art After Hours at Gari Melchers – This spring, on May 9th and June 6th, head over to Gari Melchers Home and Studio to enjoy live music, drinks, and food trucks for Art After Hours. Admission is free and first come, first served, with drinks and food at a  separate cost. Art After Hours will be from 6-8pm. 
  7. Fredericksburg Film Festival – From May 2-5, the Fredericksburg Film Festival will screen throughout downtown. Purchase tickets today, and enjoy one of the great lineups of any film festival in Virginia.
  8. Tacos & Beer Festival – Perhaps you went to to the FXBG Brewfest, but why stop there? Head back to the Fairgrounds for the Tacos & Beer Festival, and enjoy two of society’s greatest creations.
  9. Great Train Race – This beloved race for kids will return to Fredericksburg on May 5th…for the 30th time! Kids have the option to run one of three distances, all of which begin at Fredericksburg Station. Register today. 
  10. Jurassic Quest – Stomp the grounds of the Fredericksburg Convention Center, enjoy the prehistoric wonders of Jurassic Quest, which returns to Fredericksburg from May 10-12. These incredible, lifelike dinosaurs are a thrill to view and experience with the whole family. 
  11. Marine Corps Historic Half – The revered, inspirational half marathon will take place in Fredericksburg once again. Race through Central Park and Downtown Fredericksburg on May 19th, in a wonderful effort to support the troops. Register today. 
  12. Latin Festival in Fredericksburg – After completing or attending the Historic Half, head over to the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds to experience live music, food truck, beverages and so much more at the Latin Festival of Fredericksburg.
