Call for Artists: Upcycled Ghost Art Show

The Fredericksburg Visitor Center is bringing back our annual Upcycled Ghost Art Show, and we want your ghostly creations!

About the Show

Boo-tiful, creative and sustainable!

We’re inviting artists of all ages and skill levels to give an old piece of art a spirited new life.

Find a non-valuable painting, print, photograph or piece of artwork. It can be thrifted or something you already have at home.— and add a ghost (or a whole haunted crew!) to the scene. Get creative, have fun and make it your own!

Need a little inspiration? Search “painting ghosts on thrift store paintings” on Google, TikTok or Pinterest.

Who Can Enter?

Everyone! All ages and skill levels are welcome.

FREE to enter!

Artwork Guidelines

All mediums are welcome, as long as the finished piece meets the display requirements below.

Artwork must be on poster board, construction paper, foam/matte board or framed.

Maximum size: 16″ x 20″

Framed artwork must include a hanging bracket on the back OR have a sturdy backing suitable for 3M hanging strips.

Please write your name on the back of your artwork.

Important Deadlines

Submission Form + Photo Due:
Thursday, September 24, 2026 by 4 PM

Artwork Drop-Off Deadline:
Monday, September 28, 2026 by 12 PM
