Driving Directions

Fredericksburg is located directly between Washington, DC and Richmond, VA.  America’s two major North-South highways, I-95 and U.S. Route 1, both pass directly through the City of Fredericksburg. From I-95, take exit 130A.

Numerous other well-traveled routes, such as U.S. Route 17 and Virginia Route 3, also bisect Fredericksburg.

Both Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express (VRE) provide frequent, convenient service to Fredericksburg. Both stop at the rail station at the foot of Caroline Street in downtown Fredericksburg.

Uber, Lyft and local taxi services are also available.  During the Summer, the city sponsors the free Around The Town Trolley on Friday nights.  This is a great and unique way to explore downtown shops, restaurants and galleries.
