Winter in Fredericksburg
November 7 – December 30, 2025

The Fredericksburg Visitor Center is excited to host its winter art exhibit celebrating the beauty, charm, and festive spirit of the season in Fredericksburg.

Eligibility:

  • Open to local and regional artists (18+).
  • The art exhibition is FREE to enter and show visitors are welcome free of charge.
  • Mediums welcome: painting, photography, and digital art
  • All work must reflect the Winter in Fredericksburg theme.

Artwork Requirements:

  • All pieces must be ready to hang or display. (wired or hooks preferred)
  • Artist may submit up to 2 pieces. Each piece must have its own submission.
  • This is a family-friendly art space, and we kindly request that all submissions adhere to appropriate content to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all attendees of all ages.
  • Artwork should be labeled on the back with artist name and title.
  • Work must remain on display for the full duration of the show unless purchased by someone that cannot pick up the piece after the show.

Artwork Approval:

  • All artwork must reflect the Winter in Fredericksburg theme.
  • Before being accepted into the exhibit, artists must email images of their work for approval to [email protected] with “Winter In Fredericksburg Submission” in the subject line by Saturday, November 1.
  • Approval ensure the piece meets the Visitor Center display requirements and fits the theme.
  • Artwork submitted without prior approval may not be accepted for display.

Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, October 31, 2025
  • Artwork sent for Approval: Saturday, November 1, 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance: Sunday, November 2, 2025
  • Artist Drop-off: Sunday, November 2 – Wednesday, November 5, 2025 (9am to 4pm)
  • Show Opening Reception: First Friday, November 7, 2025 (5pm to 7:30pm)
  • Artwork Pick-up: Friday, January 2 – Monday, January 5, 2026

Sales:

  • Artist may list pieces for sale.
  • The Visitor Center will process sales directly through its point-of-sale system.
  • Artists must complete a City of Fredericksburg Vendor Form and provide a W-9 prior to the start of the show in order to participate in sales.
  • A 15% commission will be retained by the Visitor Center on all sales.
  • Artists will receive payment (minus the commission) after the close of the show.
  • If a visitor from out of town purchases a piece, the buyer may take the artwork with them that day.
  • Artists are encouraged to have a replacement work, if available to keep the exhibit full throughout the show.

Liability:

The Fredericksburg Visitor Center takes great care with displayed artwork but is not responsible for theft, damage or loss.

Promotion:

  • Artists may be featured on VisitFXBG or FXBGEDT social media, newsletters and website.
  • By participating, artists agree to allow their work to be photographed for marketing purposes.
