A. Smith Bowman Distillery is Virginia’s Oldest and Most Award Winning Distillery!
Since 1934, the historic A. Smith Bowman Distillery has passionately produced premium hand-crafted spirits that have gone on to win many awards, most notably “World’s Best Bourbon” two years in a row – 2016 and 2017. Nestled just five minutes from downtown Fredericksburg and three miles from I-95, A. Smith Bowman Distillery is a great place to spend an afternoon.
A. Smith Bowman Distillery offers complimentary, guided tours Monday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon – 4 p.m. All tours depart on the hour. Guests can also shop our Gift Shop each day until 5 p.m.

Built in the 1920’s, our buildings display an antique industrial charm, that when combined with the beauty of copper stills, oak barrels and the sweet aroma of bourbon, provides you with a one-of-a-kind space for your wedding.
