Private Carriage Ride
Our standard Private Carriage Ride is approximately 45 minutes long. We will usually cover up to 3 miles of Fredericksburg Commercial District, the Colonial, Victorian and Edwardian residential Historic District. Fredericksburg is known for its unique history and its residents take great pride in their homes. You will have the pleasure of seeing the most magnificent homes in the City.
Our Private Carriage Ride offers an exclusive carriage for those who want to tour only with members of their own party. The Private Carriage Ride is all about the culture of the City and making your own experience for your special day or evening.

Your coachman will be one of the cities best tour guides! Whether you want Colonial, Revolutionary or Civil War history, folklore or ghost stories, or information about the shops and restaurants your coachman should be able to convey some of the most interesting facts of the area.

Join us for a relaxing, informative carriage tour as we explore the heart of “America’s Most Historic City.” As we travel through Fredericksburg’s 40 blocks of historical shops. museums, unique eateries and neighborhoods. It is a lovely ride through the quaint streets which showcase the picturesque architecture that adds to the city’s unique charm.
You won’t miss any details! And you may be astounded by the amount of history this little city holds for your discovery! You will delight in the quiet neighborhoods that showcase so many different types of homes to include; Colonial, Antebellum, Victorian and Edwardian.
Our licensed tour guide will share the stories of the heroes and forefathers that graced our streets and their contributions to America! We focus on the relationship between these great people. You will feel as you were part of their circle. We promise you will not be disappointed as we are the most personal tour in the city, as our carriages are designed to allow us to easily speak to you and answer your questions.
Tours departs every hour when we are in season, schedules can be found on the Olde Towne Carriage website. Our tours are unique as they are slow and customers don’t miss a thing, we can handle 18 individuals at a time, and can schedule back to back tours as well.
Adults Only Tour
On the Adults Only Tour you will receive all the amenities as the regular Group Tour just without the children. We love children, but sometimes you want information that may not be appropriate for children.
Come join us for a longer version of our, “Best of Fredericksburg Tour”, where we also get to explore afoot the Fredericksburg battlefield where 15,000 soldiers lost their lives during the Civil War. Once we reach the battlefield you will be allowed to step off at Sunken Road.

Victorian Garden Explorer Tour
April showers bring May and June flowers! Come join us for a 45 to 60 min tour through the beautiful historical City of Fredericksburg, during the tour you will have the opportunity to see the Historic Kenmore grounds and Mary Washington’s garden.
April through June is the time of year to explore the beautiful blossoms to include daffodils, tulips, cherry blooms, magnolias, and the native Virginia Bluebells that make Fredericksburg so colorful in the spring. It truly is the best time of year to take a horse and carriage ride.
Information and history about Victorian Gardens and the grand houses of Washington Avenue will be shared during the tour as well as some information on gardening in the early colonial period. As an extra gift you will receive a day pass so you can revisit all the historical sites we will pass on our tour.
Our carriages can hold up to six individuals but we do have multiple carriages available. All large group tours will need to be arranged by contacting us in person over the phone.
