Explore how the U.S. Constitution has shaped Nepal’s democratic governance, alongside insights into Fredericksburg’s unique and enduring relationship with Kathmandu.
Fredericksburg has five sister cities: Frejus, France; Prince’s Town, Ghana; Schwetzingen, Germany; Este, Italy; Kathmandu, Nepal. This lecture series explores the cultural contributions of these countries to the fabric of our nation, as well as the influence of the United States on them. It is a dialogue of ideas and ideals—historical and cultural exchanges that have enriched each country.
The Fredericksburg Sister City organizations have collaborated to present this series as part of the VA250 program, commemorating the sesquicentennial of the United States. The shared goal of each sister city is to strengthen relationships between our city and its international partners and, through those relationships, to foster greater knowledge and understanding. These goals are realized through programs, exchanges, and projects that weave new international threads into our community’s cultural quilt.
