Annual Arbor Day Ceremony

The Fredericksburg Area Council of Garden Clubs and the City of Fredericksburg invite the public to attend the annual Arbor Day celebration on Thursday, April 9, on the steps of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library’s Fredericksburg Branch, 1201 Caroline Street. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. as the City celebrates its 38th year as a Tree City USA, a designation awarded by the National Arbor Day Foundation, which is recognizing Fredericksburg for its ongoing commitment to urban forestry.
Speakers will include Councilwoman, Joy Crump, City Arborist, Bicknell Robbins, and City Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, Hanna Taylor. This year’s event will also recognize Maggie McCormack and Alma Withers for their dedication to the Fredericksburg community and will include the dedication of a ceremonial tree in their honor. The Virginia Department of Forestry will present a memorial flag to the City in honor of the event.
All are invited to attend this annual event celebrating Fredericksburg’s commitment to its urban forestry program.
