Juneteenth: Celebrate the Storytellers

Join the Fredericksburg Area Museum for Juneteenth: Celebrate the Storytellers, a special community event hosted by Eunice Haigler in Market Square.

Meet local Black authors, including Michael Carter, author of Africulture: How the Principles, Practices, Plants, and People of African Descent Have Shaped American Agriculture, and Dr. Paula Royster, author of I. Am. Arapi. Hear from featured speakers, including Mayor the Honorable Reverend Lord Owusu Mensah of Princess Town, Ghana and meet members of the Patawomeck Tribe.

This year’s honored guest is Ms. Cleopatra Coleman, whose historic preservation work, community leadership, and first-person portrayal of Harriet Tubman have inspired and educated thousands.

The museum’s galleries will be open from 10:00am to 5:00pm, featuring Living Legacies, an exhibition highlighting stories of emancipation, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom.

Juneteenth Celebrate Storytellers event featuring Ms. Cleo Coleman, with details about the date, time, location at Market Square 909, Fredericksburg, VA, and information about music, legacy, and culture. The event is free entry and includes an exhibit museum tour and a book signing.
