Lafayette Trail Marker Dedication

Everyone is invited to the Dedication of the Lafayette Trail Marker on Thursday, May 24, at 1:30 PM, at the Fredericksburg Area Museum, 907 Princess Anne Street; and to the free lecture that evening, “The Lafayette Trail,” at the downtown library theater, 1201 Caroline St.

The honored guest and speaker is Julien Icher, a French national who founded and is president of The Lafyaette Trail project. The initiative aims to erect a marker at every venue that Lafayette visited during his 1824-25 Farewell Tour of the U.S.

The events are part of the year-long commemoration of Lafayette’s visit to Fredericksburg. Lectures, exhibits, guided tours and other gatherings began in March, and will culminate in the historic interpretation of Lafayette’s stay, on November 23-24, 2024.
