The Richmond statue of Christopher Columbus was ripped from its podium in 2020. In 2022, the Italian-American Cultural Assn. of VA retrieved and restored it. John Corritone, of the It.-Am. Association, speaks about the restoration and why it was important to restore it. Paul Dipasquale, sculptor (Arthur Ashe, King Neptune) who worked hands-on in the project, will also speak about the role of monuments and statues in today’s society.
