The University of Mary Washington men’s basketball team is set to host the opening rounds of the NCAA Division III Tournament in Fredericksburg this weekend.
The Eagles, the No. 4 seed in the championship field, will take on Worcester State University on Friday, March 6 at 7:30pm. In the first matchup, Worcester Polytechnic Institute will face Amherst College beginning at 5pm. The two Friday winners will meet on Saturday at 7:30pm, with the victor advancing to the Sweet 16 next weekend.
Mary Washington is making its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance — and third in the past four years — and will host tournament games for the second time in program history. The Eagles enter postseason play with a 24–3 record, including a 6–3 mark against NCAA Tournament teams, and remain undefeated at home this season (13–0).

General admission tickets can be purchased in-person at the ticket booth located at the court yard entrance of the arena, starting 90 minutes before tipoff of the first game each day, and are good for all games played that day.
