Women and Power in Renaissance Italy (Free Lecture)

Dr. Alyson Poska, professor emerita of UMW, will speak about the rise to power of Italian noblewomen during the fifteenth century. Lecture is free; donations accepted. Reception at 6:30, lecture begins at 7. Enter at George Street (side door). Retired professor of History and Women’s Studies at UMW, Dr. Poska has been recognized for her leadership in both the academic and local communities. The Fredericksburg-Este Association, sponsor of the lecture, is a sister city partner with Este, Italy. The mission is to nurture friendship and cultural understanding between the two cities through exchanges, programs, and events. www.fred-este.org
