Fredericksburg has a big reason to celebrate! The University of Mary Washington Men’s Basketball team brought home the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championship, and now the whole community is invited to join the party.
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, head to the Fredericksburg campus for the UMW Fan Fest from 3pm to 5pm at the Anderson Center, located at 1301 College Avenue. This free, family-friendly event is your chance to celebrate the team’s historic win, meet the players, and enjoy a fun afternoon with fellow fans.
Before the Fan Fest begins, keep an eye out for the team trolley as it travels through downtown Fredericksburg. The motorcade will roll through the city from 2:30 to 3:15pm, giving everyone a chance to wave, cheer, and show their support. Be sure to check UMW’s social media pages for the parade route so you don’t miss it.
Once you arrive on campus, there will be plenty to enjoy. Expect fan activities, food trucks in the courtyard, and limited-edition championship merchandise. It’s a great way to celebrate with friends, family, and the entire UMW community.
Want to show your school spirit? Stop by the Fredericksburg Visitor Center on Friday, April 17 from 9am to 4pm or earlier on Saturday to make a free poster before the motorcade. Then bring it with you to cheer on the team in style.
The event is open to everyone, with public parking available in the Alvey Deck and across Route 1 at Eagle Village. Food and concessions will be available for purchase, with special deals for UMW students and visitors.
