FXBG Walks – Unique Guided Walking Tours of Fredericksburg

FXBG Walks is a guided walking tour of Fredericksburg, Virginia, led by historian and history teacher Barbara.  Tours will dive into unique sites and stories that can only be experienced in Fredericksburg.
Tours happen rain or shine. Tickets are $15 per person, plus $1 processing fee (children under 10 are free) and must be purchased in advance online or at the Visitor Center.

July 2 – Welcome Wagon! 300 years in 120 minutes

Perfect for all those who want an overview.  It’s a great tour for anyone new to the area who would like to know more comprehensive history of our beautiful city.

July 9 – Walk for Freedom: Black History

This tour celebrates unsung heroes of Fredericksburg from enslavement to emancipation to civil rights. Learn about intriguing Black spies, soldiers, developers, teachers, and doctors who built Fredericksburg.

July 16 – Follow the Fire of 1807

Trace the path of Fredericksburg’s most devastating fire, which destroyed five blocks of Caroline and Sophia Streets. Learn about the cause of the fire, early fire insurance, the humanitarian efforts to provide relief to the “Sufferers of the late Fire,” and the call for more organized firefighting brigades.

July 23- Retro Retail: Shopping Downtown in the 1950’s

Before the mall and Walmart, everyone in a 30-mile radius came to downtown Fredericksburg to go shopping. We’ll walk you back in time along Caroline Street showcasing plenty of old photos and ads to show off mid-century Fredericksburg.
