What Is Find Freddy?

It’s part art walk, part detective game! Freddy is a playful paintbrush hiding out in galleries across downtown Fredericksburg. He’s got a flair for fashion and loves dressing up for each stop. Your job? Find him and take note of his look.

The new hunt officially kicks off on First Friday (June 5, 2026)—but don’t worry if you miss opening night. This is an ongoing activity you can enjoy any day of the week, at your own pace.

Join the Find Freddy Scavenger Hunt—brought to you by the Fredericksburg Arts Commission—for a fun and free way to explore downtown’s vibrant art scene!

How to Play:

  1. Visit any of the participating galleries.
  2. Look around for Freddy.
  3. Describe where Freddy was hiding and what he was wearing.
  4. Receive a gallery sticker designed specifically for that location and candy.
  5. Scan the QR Code and receive a stamp on the Visit FXBG app.
  6. Collect all 8 stamps to receive a grand prize.

What You’ll Win:

  • Grand Prize
    • After collecting all 8 passport stamps in your Visit FXBG app, bring your phone to the FXBG
      Visitor Center to receive your prize.
      • (FXBG Visitor Center is located at 601 Caroline Street)
  • Individual Gallery Stickers and Candy
    • Every participant who completes the hunt will receive FXBG swag—a sticker and/or sweet treat
      to celebrate your success. Each gallery has a different Find Freddy Sticker. Find Freddy at each
      location to collect all 8!
