Fall Farm Fun at Braehead Farm
Fall weekends are made for pumpkin picking, hayrides and a little time on the farm. Braehead Farm’s Fall Festival Weekends return September 26 through October 25, bringing five weekends of seasonal fun to Fredericksburg, Virginia.
The festival takes place Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with activities for the whole family.
Spend a Fall Day on the Farm
There’s plenty to keep everyone busy during Fall Festival Weekends. Take a hayride around the farm and through the decorated forest, find your way through the corn maze or tackle the scavenger hunt to discover who stole the farmer’s pies.
You can also stroll the sunflower walk, visit the farm animals and stop for plenty of fall photo opportunities. The Family Playgrounds add even more to the day with a hay barn, corn pit, swings, sand piles, slides and picnic areas. And, of course, it wouldn’t be fall without a trip to the pumpkin patch. Pick your favorite pumpkin or gourd to take home, with pumpkins and gourds sold separately by the pound.
Come Hungry
A day at the farm calls for a few fall treats. Braehead Farm serves up fresh apple cider, kettle corn, popcorn, whoopie pies, cotton candy and dairy-fresh ice cream, including pumpkin ice cream.
Lunch options include deli sandwiches, hot dogs, chili dogs, mac and cheese and more. The farm will also welcome different food vendors throughout the festival weekends.
Before heading home, stop by the Braehead Farm Market and Bakery for fresh apples and cider, pre-picked pumpkins, local honey, jams, sauces, baked goods and other local favorites.
Fall Festival Admission
Fall Festival admission is $15 per person, plus tax, and includes admission to the Family Playgrounds and festival activities. Children ages 2 and under are free.
Visitors who only want to enjoy the Family Playgrounds can purchase admission for $6 per person, plus tax. The Fall Festival can be added for an additional $9 per person.
You can also visit Braehead Farm’s front Pick-Your-Own fields without paying an admission fee. Simply pay for what you pick, including pumpkins, gourds, flowers, sunflowers and seasonal vegetables. Pumpkins and gourds are 90 cents per pound.
2026 Fall/Winter Season Passholders pay only the $9 Fall Festival fee since Family Playgrounds admission is included with their pass.
Weekday Visits
Can’t make it on a festival weekend? Braehead Farm is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During the week, visitors can explore the Family Playgrounds for $6 per person, plus tax, or visit the Pick-Your-Own fields with no admission fee and pay for what they pick.
Fall Festival activities, including guest hayrides, are only available on Saturdays and Sundays during the festival.
