Thanks to the 756,000 visitors of the Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania Military Park, the National Park Service estimates that in 2022, the local economy saw an economic impact of $49.9 million. Seeing as that local spend benefited 617 local jobs, the cumulative benefit from the Military Park to the local economy was $72.1 million.
The National Park Service economists who conducted this analysis estimate that visitors of national parks have spent $23.9 billion to local communities; that provides a $50.3 billion cumulative benefit to the U.S. economy, as the spending supported 378,400 jobs.
