On Saturday, October 7th, 2023, Fredericksburg Nationals Stadium will play host to the second annual Fredtoberfest, hosted by 6 Bears & a Goat Brewing Company. Fredtoberfest is an authentic German style Oktoberfest and local concert series.
Vendors, food, and breweries will be scattered throughout the stadium, with the bands performing behind the pitcher’s mound starting at 2:00pm. Over 50 breweries will be pouring beer at Fredtoberfest, most of whom are local or statewide. There will be over 50 vendors, who will be serving food and so much more.
Mark Faller, owner of 6 Bears & a Goat, has attended Oktoberfest in Germany before, and felt that a similar, community-related event would be a great addition to the Fredericksburg brewery scene. According to Lindsey Heppner, Director of Marketing & Brand Development at 6 Bears & a Goat, they are placing an emphasis on supporting local breweries and businesses.
“Local is what we’re trying to push,” Heppner said.
Heppner is excited for the variety of breweries that will attend Fredtoberfest, from larger breweries such as Starr Hill, to newer, budding breweries such as Full Distance. Heppner estimates that 5,000 guests will attend Oktoberfest.
“We just hope that people come out, have fun, and enjoy the day,” she said.
