As a city filled with spectacle and creativity, Fredericksburg is featuring many wonderful live performances this holiday season. Here are some exciting holiday shows in Fredericksburg, Virginia:
- Riverside Center for the Performing Arts presents ‘White Christmas’ – From November 5th though December 28th, everyone’s favorite Christmas musical is coming to Riverside Center! Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. Will the show go on? With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages.
- Stage Door Productions presents ‘Holiday Concert’ – Enjoy holiday carols and magical performances on Friday, December 5th at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 7th at 3pm. Stage Door is located in the Allstate Community Theater of Fredericksburg on Caroline Street.
Academy of Ballet presents ‘The Nutcracker’ – On Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th, Fredericksburg’s Academy of Ballet will fulfill their annual tradition of performing ‘The Nutcracker’ at James Monroe High School. “We pride ourselves on our professional quality costumes, sets, and choreography, and we hope that we can continue giving the magic of the Nutcracker for many years to come,” said Hannah Vojsak, Artistic Director of the Academy of Ballet. - Rappahannock Choral Society Holiday Concert – The RCS will be performing their Holiday Concert titled “Tis the Season for Joy” at Chancellor High School on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 7pm and Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 3pm.
- Stage Door Productions presents ‘Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Fredericksburg Christmas Show’ – The local community theater’s wonderful adaptation of a Charles Dickens’ story is running this year from December 12th through the 21st.
- Live Nativity at Fredericksburg Seventh Day Adventist Church -On December 13th, step into scenes from the Christmas story. Meet a centurion at the gate, pass the inn with “no room,” then continue toward the stable. Some animals are live; the camel and donkey are not. You will see the wise men with Herod, the shepherds and angels, and the manger with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Finish with carols, hot drinks, sweet treats, and a prayer wall where you can post a prayer or have someone pray with you.
- The Spotsylvanians Present Christmas Around the World– It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Spotsylvanians Chorus will present Christmas Around the World at Riverbend High School on December 13th at 3pm and 7pm. Experience wonderful holiday music that is sure to lift your spirit and get you in the holiday mood!
- Sounds of the Season – The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg will present its annual Sounds of the Season concert at the Fredericksburg Baptist Church on Saturday, December 13th at 3pm and 7pm. This concert includes holiday favorites as well as newer and lesser known choral works. Also included will be the audience-favorite sing-a-long of carols.
- Fredericksburg Ballet Centre’s “Nutcracker” – Join the Fredericksburg Ballet Centre at James Monroe High school on December 13th and 14th for a dazzling, full-length Nutcracker performance! Immerse yourself in a world of wonder with breathtaking sets, enchanting costumes, and unforgettable dances. From the mischievous mice to the Sugar Plum Fairy, every moment is pure holiday enchantment! Bring the whole family for a magical evening that will spark joy and create cherished memories.
- Avery Ballet’s “In the Spirit of Angels” – On Sunday, December 14th at 3pm, experience an original holiday ballet story by Avery Ballet at Fredericksburg Academy.
- Fredericksburg Concert Band ‘Tinsel and Tunes’ – On December 18th at 7pm, join the Fredericksburg Concert Band at James Monroe High School for a family-friendly concert with sing-alongs, audience participation, and just for the kiddos, a musical story time of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas with a visit from a gift-bearing Santa.
- Ferry Farm Baptist Church Christmas Pageant and Living Nativity – On Friday December 19th and Saturday December 20th from 7:00PM to 9:00 PM each night, watch from your car as the Ferry Farm Baptist Church presents a Live Nativity scene. There is a presentation every 12 minutes, so this is perfect for a short family outing.
- Christmas Concert at St. George’s – St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a festive, free concert on Sunday, December 21 at 3 pm, featuring the parish’s music ensembles. Celebrate the season with St. George’s organists, choirs, jazz band, Celtic ensemble, and more. All are welcome to join for a musical Christmas feast guaranteed to make all merry and bright.
