Holiday Shows in Fredericksburg

As a city filled with spectacle and creativity, Fredericksburg is featuring many wonderful live performances this holiday season. Here are some exciting holiday shows in Fredericksburg, Virginia:

  • Riverside Center for the Performing Arts presents ‘Riverside Christmas Spectacular’ – From November 20th though December 29th, experience the excitement, memories, and joy of Christmas as their spectacular cast of singers and dancers present the very heart and essence of the holiday season. Escape cold, hustle, and stress by warming your Christmas spirit at Riverside Center with this glittering celebration of everything that makes this “the most wonderful time of the year!”

  • Academy of Ballet presents ‘The Nutcracker’ – On Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th, Fredericksburg’s Academy of Ballet will fulfill their annual tradition of performing ‘The Nutcracker’ at James Monroe High School. “We pride ourselves on our professional quality costumes, sets, and choreography, and we hope that we can continue giving the magic of the Nutcracker for many years to come,” said Hannah Vojsak, Artistic Director of the Academy of Ballet. 
  • Ferry Farm Baptist Church Christmas Pageant and Living Nativity – On Friday December 13th and Saturday December 14th from 7:00PM to 9:00 PM each night, watch from your car as the Ferry Farm Baptist Church presents the Night Jesus was Born. You will watch as the Angels proclaim the Good News to the shepherds who then follow the Star to where the baby Lord Jesus lays his head.

 

  • The Spotsylvanians Present A Hometown Holiday – It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Spotsylvanians Chorus will present A Hometown Holiday at Riverbend High School on December 14 (7 pm) and December 15th (3 pm).  Experience wonderful holiday music that is sure to lift your spirit and get you in the holiday mood! Special guests STEP VA All Abilities Choir will be at the December 15 performance.

 

  • Sounds of the Season – The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg will present its annual Sounds of the Season concert at the Fredericksburg Baptist Church on Saturday December 14th at 3pm and 7pm.  Featured this year will be John Rutter’s Magnificat, accompanied by a 16 piece chamber orchestra made up of local instrumentalists. The concert will also include the traditional carol sing-along, and other favorite familiar tunes.

 

  • The Nutcracker Swings presented by the Fredericksburg Big Band – On December 15th at 5pm, head to Salem Baptist Church for the Fredericksburg Big Band Christmas and Holiday music concert! The concert will feature Duke Ellington and Billie Strayhorn’s adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite along with other traditional holiday music.

  • Fredericksburg Concert Band ‘March of the Toys’ A family-friendly concert with sing-alongs, audience participation, and just for the kiddos, a musical story time of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas with a visit from a gift-bearing Santa.   • Christmas Concert at St. George’s – St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a festive, free concert on Sunday, December 15 at 3 pm, featuring the parish’s music ensembles.
    Celebrate the season with St. George’s organists, choirs, jazz band, Celtic ensemble, and more. All are welcome to join for a musical Christmas feast guaranteed to make all merry and bright.

 

  • Fredericksburg Ballet Centre’s “Nutcracker” – Join the Fredericksburg Ballet Centre at James Monroe High school on December 21st and 22nd for a dazzling, full-length Nutcracker performance! Immerse yourself in a world of wonder with breathtaking sets, enchanting costumes, and unforgettable dances. From the mischievous mice to the Sugar Plum Fairy, every moment is pure holiday enchantment! Bring the whole family for a magical evening that will spark joy and create cherished memories.
