Break out the lederhosen and get ready to raise a stein! It’s time for Oktoberfest season in Fredericksburg!
And because Fredericksburg likes to put its own spin on things, we’re not celebrating Oktoberfest just once. There are several celebrations on the calendar this fall.
Here’s your guide to Oktoberfest season in Fredericksburg
Brocktoberfest at Brock’s Riverside Grill
Saturday, September 12 | 2pmβlate
π503 Sophia Street
Brock’s Riverside Grill is kicking off Oktoberfest season along the Rappahannock River with a full-property celebration.
The fun starts at 2pm with a parking lot beer garden featuring six breweries, live music throughout the day and a special Oktoberfest menu loaded with pretzels, bratwurst, potato pancakes, jΓ€gerschnitzel and more.
And Brocktoberfest isn’t calling it a night early. Live music continues into the evening before an upstairs late-night after party keeps things going until 1:30am.
Come hungry. Stay awhile. And enjoy Oktoberfest with one of the best views in FXBG.
Oktoberfest Season at Alpine Chef
Oktoberfest Menu Begins September 18
Oktoberfest Celebration: Saturday, October 10 | Starting at 12pm
π 200 Lafayette Boulevard
If anyone knows how to celebrate Oktoberfest, it’s Fredericksburg’s own German restaurant.
Located inside the historic Fredericksburg train station, Alpine Chef is getting the celebration started early with its limited-time Oktoberfest menu beginning September 18.
That means you don’t have to wait until October to dig into the flavors of the season. Make a lunch or dinner date and get an authentic taste of Oktoberfest.
Then, mark your calendar for Saturday, October 10, when Alpine Chef’s official Oktoberfest celebration kicks off at noon.
Come for the German food, stay for the Oktoberfest fun!
Barktoberfest at Strangeways Brewing
Saturday, September 26 | 12β5pm
π 350 Lansdowne Road
Oktoberfest, but make it dog-friendly.
Strangeways Brewing Fredericksburg is putting its own spin on the season with Barktoberfest, a beer-and-dog festival celebrating pups, brews and community.
Bring your four-legged drinking buddy. It’s water for them, beer for you.Β Spend the afternoon enjoying the brewery, local vendors, food and plenty of fellow dog lovers.
And yes, we fully support your decision to put your dog in lederhosen. Actually, we encourage it.
Oktoberfest at Alpine Chef
Saturday, October 10 | Starting at 12pm
π 200 Lafayette Boulevard
By October, it’s time for the main event at Alpine Chef!
After a few weeks of enjoying their special Oktoberfest menu, head back to the historic train station for Alpine Chef’s full Oktoberfest celebration.
Expect plenty of German food, drinks and Bavarian spirit from the restaurant that brings a little taste of Germany to Fredericksburg all year long.
If you’re looking for the most traditional Oktoberfest experience on our list, this is the one.
Quacktoberfest
Saturday, October 17 | 2β6pm
π Riverfront Park, 701 Sophia Street
And finally, we end Oktoberfest season the only logical way: With rubber ducks. Lots of rubber ducks.
Quacktoberfest takes over Riverfront Park with an afternoon of carnival rides and games, food trucks, local vendors, live music, a beergarten and plenty of family-friendly fall fun.
But the star of the show is the FXBG Duck Derby, when thousands of little yellow rubber ducks race down the Rappahannock River at approximately 3pm.
Stick around after Quacktoberfest for even more fall fun with a special episode of Darkwing Duck followed by an outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus at dusk.
Bring a lawn chair, grab your favorite fall layer and settle in for a full afternoon and evening along the river.

Four celebrations. One limited-time Oktoberfest menu. Plenty of reasons to spend fall in Fredericksburg.
While you’re here, make a weekend of it. Explore downtown, shop local, grab dinner, walk along the Rappahannock and stay overnight so you don’t have to rush home.
Whether you’re here for the bratwurst, the beer, the dogs or the ducks, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Fall looks pretty good on FXBG.
