Calling all quilters to be a part of this historic quilting event!
Quilting is the quintessential American art form. With that, we invite you to make a quilt sample to celebrate America’s birthday in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Theme:
America the Beautiful!
These quilts will be hung on the outside wall of Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) facing Market Square for several days. It will rain, so keep that in mind as you choose fabrics.
If the outside walls of FAM get filled, we will then display quilts down the alley leading up to Market square off of Caroline Street, at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center and in the windows of the store fronts.
How to Submit Your Quilt:
- Fill out the form below.
- Free to enter.
- Your quilt can be a design of any representation of America the Beautiful.
- This is a good project for panels.
- Design must be family friendly and subject to approval before being hung.
- Quilt size must be 3′ x 3′. You may enter as many quilts as you like.
- Do not add batting to your quilt. When it rains, it will make the quilt heavy. Long Arming may not be needed either.
- 3″ sleeve across the top is required for hanging.
- Quilts will be displayed as high as 30 feet, small details may not get noticed.
- Quilts are due on May 1, 2026.
- Quilts are donated. They will not be returned.
- Write your name and city, state on a piece of paper, place in Ziploc snack size bag and sew the sealed bag on the back of your quilt under the 3″ sleeve or you can make a label. Remember – it will rain!
- Quilts must be dropped off or mailed before May 1, 2026 to an address to be determined.
