As spring approaches in Fredericksburg, we’ve been hard at work preparing for a season full of great festivities! As always, there are plenty of fun things to do this time of year.
- Fredericksburg Fine Art Show & Sale – Browse beautiful local art in this annual show, and even take one home to brighten your space for spring!
- BrickFair Lego Fan Expo – On March 28-29 at the Fredericksburg Convention Center, explore awe-inspiring models from over 200 talented exhibitors, showcasing epic builds that will leave you in awe. Bounce into fun with the Moon Bounce, test your skills with the Putt-Putt course, and race to victory in the thrilling Derby Race. Unleash your creativity at the Art Gallery and experience unique builds at the Bridge Build, Aqua Build, and Green Build areas. Play Bingo for a chance to win amazing LEGO prizes!
- Mac & Cheese Festival – Perhaps you went last year, or heard how delicious this festival was! Now is your chance to indulge! Head to the Fairgrounds for the Mac & Cheese Festiva on March 28th, and enjoy one of the worlds greatest dishes!.
- Fredericksburg Nationals Opening Day – Words cannot express the excitement for Friday, April 3rd, when the FredNats will have their Opening Day! Come watch our beloved team take on the Augusta Greenjackets and hang out after the game for fireworks.
- Spring Arts & Crafts Show – Step into a world of creativity and inspiration at the annual Spring Arts & Crafts Show, taking place on April 11-12th at the Fredericksburg Convention Center . This premier event is a celebration of the arts, featuring over 150 talented vendors from across the region. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, decorating your home for the season, or simply looking for a unique way to spend your weekend, this show promises an array of exciting products.

- Thrift World – Head over to the Fredericksburg Convention Center on April 18th as Thrift World returns! Enjoy a curated shopping event with the DMV’s top vintage resellers, bringing you a mix of vintage and modern fashion, shoes, nostalgia, records, toys, mod, retro, art and everything in between!! auctions and giveaways throughout the day.
- Fredericksburg Farmers Market – Beginning in mid-April, Hurkamp Park will host the Fredericksburg Farmers Market, every Saturday from 7am-1pm. Head on over to purchase authentic, homemade items, in a great effort to support local businesses.
- Earth Day Festival on the Rappahannock – On Saturday, April 18th, swing by Old Mill Park to celebrate our wonderful world and cherished environment. This free festival will have fun activities, food, and live music, among many other things to do.
- Food Truck Festival – This is the perfect spring event for foodies, families, or anyone looking for a fun time! Head over to the Fairgrounds on Sunday, April 26th to support local food trucks and enjoy vendors, DJ, kids activities, & more!
- Garden Day – The spring tulips of lower Caroline Street come into full bloom every April, which is why on April 29th, the Rappahannock Valley Garden Club is hosting a walking tour to view these beautiful flowers, in honor of Garden Day in Fredericksburg. Tour the gorgeous gardens of Fredericksburg’s Historic District, and the interior floral arrangements of five beautiful homes.
- Great Train Race – This beloved race for kids will return to Fredericksburg on May 3rd! Kids have the option to run one of three distances, all of which begin at Fredericksburg Station. Register today.
- Tacos & Beer Festival – A pairing you can’t pass up! Get ready to indulge in a mouthwatering fiesta of TACOS and BEER on May 9th, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM!
- Marine Corps Historic Half – The revered, inspirational half marathon will take place in Fredericksburg once again. Race through Central Park and Downtown Fredericksburg on May 17th, in a wonderful effort to support the troops. Register today.
- Spring Garage Sale – Looking to find something unique? Stop by the Fredericksburg Convention Center for their Spring Garage Sale on June 6th and explore hundreds of sellers.
- See a Local Show – Fredericksburg is packed with live theater, with troupes like Stage Door Productions and UMW Theater putting on a great variety of shows for the whole family to enjoy. See Jr Productions, like CYT’s The Little Mermaid, that are perfect for the kids, or celebrate America’s 250th with historical pieces like Riverside’s Little Women.
