What do a tiny paintbrush, googly eyes, and downtown Fredericksburg have in common? They’re all part of a brand-new scavenger hunt that turns gallery hopping into a game!
Launched by the Fredericksburg Arts Commission, the Find Freddy Scavenger Hunt is a free, family-friendly way to explore the city’s incredible art galleries, spot something unexpected, and earn a fun prize along the way.
What Is Find Freddy?
It’s part art walk, part detective game! Freddy is a playful paintbrush hiding out in galleries across downtown Fredericksburg. He’s got a flair for fashion and loves dressing up for each stop. Your job? Find him and take note of his look.
The new hunt officially kicks off on First Friday (June 5, 2026)—but don’t worry if you miss opening night. This is an ongoing activity you can enjoy any day of the week, at your own pace.

How to Play:
- Visit any of the participating galleries.
- Look around for Freddy.
- Describe where Freddy was hiding and what he was wearing.
- Receive a gallery sticker designed specifically for that location and candy.
- Scan the QR Code and receive a stamp on the Visit FXBG app.
- Download the Visit Fredericksburg App on Apple or Google Play.
- Collect all 8 stamps to receive a grand prize.
