As part of the America 250 Quilt Hanging Project, visitors are invited to experience the city in a whole new way with Find FXBG: Quilts—a free scavenger hunt that combines art, history, and adventure.
A Quilt Trail Like No Other
Stroll through Fredericksburg’s streets and discover beautiful handcrafted quilt panels displayed throughout downtown. Created by talented quilters from across the country, each quilt celebrates this year’s theme, “America the Beautiful,” while showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of America’s quilting tradition.
The quilt display is the vision of Christine Lush-Rodriguez of Artful Dimensions and Joan Geisler of the Virginia Star Quilters Guild, who brought together artists from twelve states to help celebrate America’s 250th Birthday.
Quilts on display were created by quilters from:
- Virginia
- Maryland
- Connecticut
- New Jersey
- West Virginia
- Ohio
- Massachusetts
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
- Indiana
- Kansas
- Delaware
The quilts will remain on display throughout downtown through Sunday, August 2, 2026.

A Project That Gives Back
The America 250 Quilt Hanging Project is more than an outdoor art exhibit.
Once the display concludes, every quilt panel will be sewn together into larger quilts and donated to charity, creating a lasting legacy of comfort, generosity, and community.
It’s a fitting tribute to America’s 250th Birthday by bringing people together through creativity, kindness, and a shared love of quilting.
