- UMW Welcome Back Party – As UMW students return to Fredericksburg, there are a number of wonderful activities in store for them at the Downtown Welcome, including a vintage market/vendors, food trucks, live band and a roller skating rink all in Riverfront Park.
- Around the Town Trolley – If you have ever spent time in downtown Fredericksburg, you have almost certainly seen (or hopefully ridden!) our vintage trolley. Throughout the Summer, our trolley has been operating not only during the day, but on Friday and Saturday nights. In addition to taking a day tour of Fredericksburg on Labor Day weekend, enjoy the last evening trolley on Saturday, August 31, from 5:00pm-8:30pm.
- Discover the stories of the soldiers who experienced the Civil War at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Living History at the Sunken Road event on Saturday, August 31 from 10am to 4pm.
- Head over to the Virginia Credit Union Stadium for the inaugural Latinos en el Diamante Festival on Saturday, August 31 from 3pm to 8pm.
- On Saturday, August 31 at 10am, paint with Nugget the Possum at Wine & Design. Details can be found here.
- Fredericksburg Area Beer Trail – The breweries in Fredericksburg are consistently experimenting with new brews, as well as keeping their flagships on tap. Grab your FAB Trail passport and enjoy our wonderful breweries, Drink responsibly!
- Learn Something New – Fredericksburg is full of history and knowledge, much of which is unknown to the general public. Our museums are the perfect way to learn more about this richly historical city. Stop by the Visitor Center to get a Fredericksburg XPass ticket for discounted museum admission. If you are active military, get free admission through Labor Day with the Blue Star Museum program.
- Rappahannock Adventures – The gorgeous Rappahannock River flows through Fredericksburg, and provides you with a number of fun outdoor adventures. Hike on the trails at the bank of the river, kayak or paddle board along the water, or keep a lookout for river otters; we cannot guarantee that you will see any otters, but it is definitely worth a look! - Riverside Center for the Performing Arts – Murder on the Orients Express is playing through September 8. Purchase tickets to enjoy dinner and a show at Riverside.
- Scavenger Hunts – Saturday, is the kick off to the Find FXBG Scavenger Hunt! Also, the FXBG Otters scavenger hunt is a great way for you and your children to explore downtown Fredericksburg. Spot the adorable otter sculptures throughout the heart of downtown.
- Spend the day shopping. Downtown offers a variety of boutiques and local shops, making it the perfect place to discover one-of-a kind items.
- Eden Try Winery Grape Escape – Located a short 20 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg is the beautiful Eden Try Winery. From August 30 – September 2, they are hosting their 4th Annual Labor Day Weekend “Grape Escape” featuring live music, local food trucks, and delicious wines! Enjoy a long weekend of fun with friends and family.
- Spirit Day at the Farmers Market – On Saturday, August 31, head over to Fredericksburg Farmers Market to see the booth decoration and vendor costume contest!
